THE CALGARY FLAMES FOUNDATION
We are so grateful to be one of the recipients of this funding! It means the world to us because, with most of our events being cancelled, we are primarily relying on the generosity of individual and corporate donations to fund our efforts this year. The $25,000 grant we received enables us to support an additional 50 families with their urgent financial needs as a result of having a child that is battling cancer – families who had a massive burden on their shoulders even before the pandemic hit. Our board members joined in the spirit of community and gathered #SocialDistancing style to show their excitement and gratitude! (As you can see, we’re all massive Flames Fans!) Flames Foundation, we truly cannot thank you enough for the services you provide to Southern Alberta and for helping us make a difference!
In the spirit of uniting our community, the Calgary Flames Foundation has been doing incredible work to support a number of local initiatives that assist children and families who were hit the hardest by COVID-19. Through their Community Support Program, they’ve directed $1.4 million to Calgary charities that help provide essential needs in the areas of food mobilization, shelter needs, mental health support, relief funding, support of vulnerable populations and family service support.
