Shelby has spent 15 years working in law enforcement in Calgary. During this time, she has worked in a variety of roles, which has allowed her to develop a unique skill set. Shelby is also the co-founder of Mackenzy’s Legacy, which advocates for safer childcare in the province of Alberta. She has advocated at both the provincial and municipal level of government, most recently helping to create a bylaw in Calgary for childcare licensing of private day homes. Shelby is a passionate advocate for children and is looking forward to applying this to her work with Helping Families. Shelby became involved with Helping Families after volunteering for the Online Christmas Auction. She is eager and excited to continue with the Scholarship Committee and other projects to support the charity.

Hobbies/interests:

Shelby loves to spend her free time outdoors with her husband and 4 boys. She is happiest outdoors in the mountains or surfing in Tofino. She is always up for a new adventure and recently challenged herself to learn to longboard.
